Tour from Phnom Penh to Angkor Wat including tour of Angkor Wat

Day 1: Phnom Penh and its surroundings

Upon arrival in Phnom Penh, spend half a day to either explore Tuol Sleng and the killing fields Choeung Ek or enjoy a guided tour around the town itself, including the royal palace, the national museum and Wat Phnom.

Day 2: Phnom Penh to Siem Reap via Sambor Prei Kuk

Leave the capital and explore the beautiful landscape on your way to Siem Reap. Try deep fried Tarantula at a small town called “Spiderville”, explore the impressive pre-Angkorian capital of Isanapura, known today as Sambor Prei Kuk and enjoy a picnic lunch. After exploring the main temples in their quiet setting, continue along the old Angkor road and see Kompong Kdei, one of the ancient Angkor bridges with more than 20 arches.

You check in to the hotel in Siem Reap in the afternoon. Meals: B, L

Day 3: Angkor Wat

Start your day early with sunrise and discover Ta Prohm at dawn, a temple which has been abandoned to the elements. Continue to the giant pyramid of Takeo, one of the highest temples in the Angkor area. Take the day to explore other wonderful buildings at this incredible site: Banteay Samre and Banteay Srei, Angkor’s ultimate art gallery.

Day 4: Angkor Wat

Rise early at sunrise to explore the mother of all temples, Angkor Wat. Believed to be the world’s largest religious building, this temple is the perfect fusion of symbolism and symmetry and a source of pride and strength to all Khmers. Spend another day to dive into another world and to explore the mysteries of history. You will also visit the immense walled city Angkor Thom, the Terrace of the Leper King and the magnificient temple of the Bayon.
